Workshop Overview:
In this workshop, we explore key strategic management practices for FM and discuss how you or your staff can integrate them into your own operations to enhance your services, processes and resources, leveraging the fundamental technical experience and skills you and your staff already know by adding value into the current FM.
Through practical discussions, examples and exercises, you will learn how to use these adding value practical techniques to drive performance from yourself and the staff, systems, suppliers and contractors you rely on to deliver services and manage your facilities or buildings.
Why You Should Attend?
If facilities are not managed, they can begin to impact upon an organisation's performance. Conversely, buildings and facilities have the potential to enhance performance by contributing towards the provision of the optimal work and business environment. There is no universal approach to managing facilities. Each organisation – even within the same sector – will have different needs. Understanding those needs is the key to effective facilities management measured in terms of providing best value.
In choosing the most appropriate solution consideration must be given to direct and indirect costs of both in-house and outsourced service provision so that a complete financial picture is gained, with comparison made on a like-for-like basis to enable a decision to be taken on best value grounds.
This 2-day event consists of several group exercises that will engage the participants into an interactive state that will provide a platform to use the knowledge they acquired and put into use in the exercises and for practical usage in their respective organization.

v UNDERSTAND what facilities management (FM) is all about and what issues it faces in the short, medium and longer terms
v RECOGNISE operations processes and maintenance procedures and be able to use these in the workplace
v MASTER the performance management and value measurement as part of FM
v USE measures for monitoring performance as part of programme of continuous performance
v UNDERSTAND and manage the workspace in a modern style
v IDENTIFY the financial control that needs to be present to proactively manage our budget.
