Mike KM Ng, PJK, FAIA, FPNA, FCCS, MNCC, CFP 

 

Mike K M Ng has been engaged in the financial and corporate sector for more than 33 years. Over these years, he has accumulated extensive experience and skill sets in management accounting, financial planning and management, corporate consulting, internal audit, company secretarial practice, taxation, credit control and risk management implementation for all levels of organizations.

 

His initial involvement in training commenced as early as1975 when he was lecturing in curriculum for working adults in the educational institutions viz. Goon Institute, Goon Computer & Management Studies Center and Informatics Computer Center. His last position was as Group Accountant in the commercial sector before establishing his own firm and commencing practice in 1985 as corporate consultants, financial planner and company secretaries.  

 

Mike Ng has now returned to his initial interest in training and desire to impart his knowledge and experience to others. At Arrow Training he manages client relationships and periodically designs and delivers financial skills program modules for in-house clients as well as programs for the public at large. 

In 1997 he was conferred the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) Award by His Royal Highness, The Sultan of Selangor in recognition of his contribution towards community & social work in Selangor.

 

Mike is a fellow member of the Association of International Accountants, United Kingdom, National Institute of Accountants, Australia; and Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries. He is also a member of the Malaysian National Computer Confederation and a Certified Financial Planner.

Between 2002 and 2006, Christine was the advisor and supervisor to over 40 social projects by participants of the Graduate Re-skilling Scheme and Industrial Skill Enhancement Program at  the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre. These projects successfully facilitated the character building and personal growth of more than 500 participants throughout this 4-year period. In addition to that, Christine also created and pioneered the first Group Entrepreneur Game, at the same centre, which was aimed at nurturing a resilient, disciplined and resourceful workforce for the future. And to top it all, she played a pivotal role in the development of more than 50% of the soft skill programs taught in the programs mentioned above.

 

Christine’s ability to manage work teams came to the fore in her previous role as a change-agent in one of the leading multi-national banks in Malaysia.  Her skill in people-management and especially, her propensity for harnessing the talents of a myriad of people, ranging from consultants and higher management to the non-managerial staff, resulted in the successful development of the bank’s first staff sales & service tracking system.  Other notable achievements which showcased Christine’s flair at dealing with people include her adeptness in the organizing of road shows & the arrangement of customer retention programs by synergizing with merchants to create a more enjoyable & rewarding experience for the bank’s customers.

Trainer’s Profile 

 

Carl Thong 

Carl has held a range of C-level roles in the USA, Japan, South Africa, Malaysia and, more recently, in Singapore. With over 18 years of consulting and training experience, he has a highly successful track record in leading change programs,   directing   large,   complex   projects   and business  operations  in  a  range  of  environments  and industries,  including  in  financial  services,   healthcare, biotechnology, IT, consumer products and manufacturing industries. For the past eight years, Carl has been primarily focused in  consulting  and  training  assignments   with  focus  in leadership,  sales,  strategy,   project   management  and innovation initiatives. 

Recent client projects include: 

• coaching C-level executives on leadership skills for a MNC joint-venture in China

•   training private bankers in Singapore, Hong Kong and China on advisory skills

•  developing a full scale competency assessment centre for a bank in Taiwan

•  training the Blue Ocean strategy for a global manufacturing firm’s sales and marketing team

•  conducting a series of business planning workshops for different business units for a regional bank

•  facilitating board room strategy sessions for a global financial group 

His background in leading entrepreneurial companies as well   as   large   multinationals   provides   him   a   deep understanding of organisational development and human capital issues. Carl has written and published two books on   marketing   and   corporate   risk   management.   He frequently   speaks at numerous industry events and currently serves on the global standards board for four international professional certification bodies. 

Having lived and worked in five countries, Carl is very comfortable with teams of diverse   backgrounds and experiences. Coming from a tri-cultural background, he is fluent in three languages (English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu) and has a working knowledge in Japanese.

  

Dr. Timothy Law
 

Dr. Timothy Law, driven by his personal motto to “impact lives through training”; Timothy’s career is fuelled by a passion to inspire others. In his role as an Organisational Learning and Development Strategist, he constantly seeks to transform the way corporations as well as individuals think in order to help them reach their fullest potential.  Graduated with a Diploma in Management from the Malaysian Institute of Management in 1999, he went on to pursue a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and subsequently an MBA, specializing in Organization Behaviour from the University of Newcastle, Australia. The combination of his academic background and vast corporate experience made him a sought after facilitator in various aspects of training. 

Timothy was holding the portfolio as the Human Resource Director at The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF). He also oversees daily operations at APBF in his capacity as a General Manager. Besides this, his portfolio includes a Brand Culture Consultant Trainer role.   

Furthermore, he plays an active part as a member of Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB)’s panel of Certified Assessors and Trainers where he conducts the much sought after Train The Trainer  Certification Series  endorsed by PSMB. In addition to this, he is also a Qualifying Blue Ocean Strategy Practitioner licensed by the UCSI Regional Institute of Blue Ocean Strategy, Malaysia and INSEAD, France.
