Internal audit has traditionally focused on financial aspects of an organization. In a modern world internal audit now is being asked more and more to encompass all aspects of an organization including non-financial aspects such as security, quality, occupational health and safety environment, information systems performance, environmental concerns, and including performance audits, and governance and strategy reviews. This means there are now specialist auditors for each of these areas. Integrating these into a single audit has the capacity to drive a more holistic audit approach and improve assurance effectiveness.
Decisions on risk evaluation require an increased focus by auditors to broaden their perspectives and think outside the box. The purpose of this workshop is to increase the internal auditor's awareness of integrated auditing and provide guidance on how to approach an integrated audit.
